Our Story

If you’ve spent any time in Hollywood, then you know that the story is never the story.

Yet, in the world of Entertainment reporting; the daily deluge of articles about movies, television, movie trailers, spoilers and celebrity gossip often stick to the script versus going deeper into the machinations and details behind the well-known story. Sadly, much of what’s being written these days can be viewed as expected, or traditional. It’s no one’s fault, necessarily, except that if you want to keep writing for certain outlets, you need to play ball. Because if you aren’t writing what the powers-that-be want you to tell the world, adhering to the party line, then you won’t be writing about that world for much longer.

The story is never the story

With all the time we’ve spent in Hollywood, at those meetings and at those tables, we wanted to launch a site that focuses on today’s entertainment news, but further pulling back the curtain to give readers insight into what’s actually going on behind the scenes of that news. We wanted to tell the fans of entertainment what was actually happening behind the curtain. Where the Wizard stands.

And so The Story is Not the Story was born.

Our hope is that along the way we can not only keep you up to date on the latest news concerning movies and television, but that our opinion and experience in the space (along with new contributors and their unique voices and backgrounds) can add a layer of detail to the surface that you’ve never heard before. Our hope is that you’ll be entertained and enlightened without ever having to get your hands dirty.

Leave the dirty work to us.
